About Me

Technology, Smart Living & Real-World Experience

Welcome to my website. I’m Lucas Müller, a Berlin-based remote web developer, technology writer, and digital nomad from Germany.

My academic background is in Electrical Engineering, while my professional career has evolved into remote web development and technology-focused content creation.

I’m particularly interested in understanding how technology can make everyday life more efficient, sustainable, comfortable, and enjoyable.

On this website, I bring together my technical knowledge, professional experience, and real-world observations to explore the technologies and lifestyle choices that genuinely matter in everyday life.

What I Write About

My content focuses on four main areas.

Smart Home & Energy-Saving Technology

My background in Electrical Engineering gives me a technical perspective when I look at smart home devices and energy-saving technologies.

I don’t consider a product useful simply because it is labeled “smart.” I want to understand how it actually works, where it can save energy, what its limitations are, and whether the long-term benefits justify the cost.

I cover technologies such as smart thermostats, energy monitors, smart plugs, efficient lighting, and other solutions designed to make homes more efficient.

My goal is to turn technical information into practical advice that everyday users can actually understand and use.

E-Bikes & Micro-Mobility

Living in Europe has given me plenty of opportunities to experience cycling and micro-mobility as part of everyday urban life.

I see e-bikes as more than just another piece of technology. For many people, they can be a practical, economical, and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional transportation.

When I write about e-bikes and micro-mobility, I look beyond specifications. I pay attention to battery performance, range, charging, maintenance, practicality, and how these technologies perform in real urban environments.

Hidden Travel Spots & Affordable Living

One of the biggest advantages of working remotely is the freedom to work from different places.

As a remote developer and digital nomad, I’ve become increasingly interested in discovering less-known destinations and finding ways to experience Europe without spending unnecessarily.

When I travel, I look beyond the typical tourist attractions. I’m interested in accommodation costs, local transportation, internet connectivity, work-friendly environments, food, and the everyday realities of living in a particular place.

I believe memorable travel doesn’t always require a huge budget. With good planning and a better understanding of local life, it’s possible to explore interesting places while keeping costs under control.

Sleep Optimization & Health Gadgets

Technology can make us more productive, but it can’t replace proper rest.

That’s one reason I’m particularly interested in sleep optimization, wearable technology, and health-focused gadgets.

I explore how smartwatches, sleep trackers, and other wearable devices can help people understand their habits and monitor useful patterns.

At the same time, I believe it’s important to understand their limitations. I don’t present consumer health gadgets as substitutes for professional medical advice. Instead, I look at them as tools that can potentially support better awareness and healthier habits.

My Experience

From Electrical Engineering to Web Development

My technical journey started with Electrical Engineering.

Studying engineering taught me more than circuits, electronics, and electrical systems. It taught me how to approach technology logically, break down complex systems, question assumptions, and evaluate how something works in the real world.

Over time, my career moved toward web development, and I began working remotely.

That combination of engineering and software experience has strongly influenced the way I approach technology.

When I look at a smart device, for example, I can consider it from both sides: the perspective of an everyday user who wants something practical and the perspective of someone with a technical background who wants to understand what is actually happening behind the product.

My experience as a remote developer has also taught me to evaluate technology based on how useful it is in real working environments—not simply how impressive it looks on paper.

How I Evaluate Technology & Products

I try not to judge a product solely by its marketing message.

When evaluating a technology or product, I usually ask:

  • What problem does it actually solve?
  • How does the technology work?
  • How useful is it in everyday situations?
  • What are its limitations?
  • Is it worth the price?
  • How practical is it over the long term?
  • Who would genuinely benefit from using it?
  • Who might be better off choosing something else?

Whenever possible, I consider first-hand experience, technical documentation, reliable information, and practical observations before forming an opinion.

I believe a useful review isn’t simply about saying that a product is “good” or “bad.”

A better review should explain who the product is good for, who it may not be suitable for, and why.

My Author Philosophy

I try to build my content around three principles.

Experience

I prefer writing about subjects that connect with my own experiences, practical observations, testing, or lifestyle.

Whenever I have the opportunity to use or experience something myself, I value that first-hand perspective.

Expertise

My background in Electrical Engineering and professional experience in web development allow me to approach technology from both technical and practical perspectives.

I also believe technical information should be understandable. My goal is not to overwhelm readers with unnecessary jargon, but to explain complex ideas in a clear and useful way.

Transparency

I believe credibility comes from presenting the complete picture.

If a product has limitations, I want readers to know about them. If something works particularly well in one situation but not another, I want to explain that too.

I try to avoid exaggerated claims and focus on providing balanced information that helps readers make their own decisions.

Why Trust My Perspective?

I don’t expect readers to simply take my word for everything.

Instead, I want my articles to provide enough context, explanation, and practical information for readers to make informed decisions themselves.

Technology changes quickly. A device that seems revolutionary today may become outdated within a few years.

That’s why I focus less on promoting individual products and more on helping readers understand how to evaluate technology and make better choices.

My goal isn’t to push readers toward a particular decision.

My goal is to give them the information they need to make that decision confidently.

My Editorial Approach

When researching and writing about technology and products, I generally consider four things.

First — First-Hand Experience
Whenever possible, I give priority to real-world use, personal observations, and practical experience.

Second — Technical Understanding
I look at how the technology works and try to explain the important technical concepts behind it.

Third — Independent Evaluation
I don’t rely solely on manufacturer claims. I consider both the potential benefits and the limitations.

Fourth — Reader Value
Ultimately, I ask one simple question: Will this information actually help the reader make a better decision?

If the answer is no, I don’t think it belongs in the article.

My Mission

Through this website, I want to create a reliable resource where technology and modern lifestyle topics are explained in a practical, honest, and accessible way.

Whether it’s reducing energy consumption at home, choosing an e-bike, discovering affordable places to travel in Europe, working remotely, or using wearable technology to better understand sleep, I try to look at each topic through three lenses:

Technical knowledge + Real-world experience + Practical value
